I absolutely love jewelry you can't find everywhere, and I love this pendant. The Mercury Dime is a rare coin minted for a brief period of time between 1916 to 1945, and this pendant with the Mercury Dime center has been bordered by the most beautiful gems of yellow and blue sapphires and multi-tourmaline. I love that you are not going to find this necklace everywhere. This necklace is so sophisticated and so easy to wear. I know you are going to love it as much as I do!
Mercury dime designed by Adolph Weinman (a German born Sculptor) was minted only from 1916-1945. It is referred to as the Winged Liberty Head (The winged Liberty is widely believed to have been based on a 1913 bust Weinman sculpted of Elsie Stevens, wife of Wallace Stevens ). It is considered highly scarce. The back of the coin consists of a fasces that symbolizes unity and strength along with an olive branch that signifies peace.
