This cuff is part of a collection called, "Gioielli Dal Passato,"  which literally translates, "Jewelry From The Past."  They are made from molds that date back to the renaissance and are only made for us. You will receive a romance card with each beautiful piece to explain the unbelievable history when it ships.

I fell in love with this cuff because it is not only a beautiful piece of handmade jewelry, but a piece of history as well.  Paola, one of our favorite manufacturers, found these beautiful jewelry molds in the basement of an old jewelry shop near the Ponte Vecchio in Florence. These jewelry molds were created during the Renaissance (yes, THAT Renaissance), when the wealthy of Florence would commission unique cuffs of gold to be made for them to show their interests. These cuffs were a one of a kind signature for the wearer only and were worn by men and women. After creating stunning works of art in gold, these molds have been waiting there for you, buried in a basement, for hundreds of years until Paola found them and realized what they were. A piece of history, the shadows and voices of centuries past. These molds were the mark of the successful in their day. Walking the streets of Florence in beautiful fabrics and gold bangles. This specific mold depicts a flower design, which was a very popular element represented by various artist during the Renaissance.  The name "Firenza"in latin is Florentia which literally translates "fields that bloom." A famous example of the use of flowers in art was from the renowned Renaissance painter, Botticelli, who was known as a trend-setter in adding floral designs to his paintings.
